For such a festive holiday, Christmas sure does seem to have more than its share of foes. There's Ebenezer Scrooge, The Grinch, Heat Miser and Snow Mister, Oogie Boogie, The Bumble (Abominable Snow Monster), Squidward, and a host of other party poopers who disparage the holiday. Not only that, but there are also several competing holidays around the same time of year which compete for the attention of people all around the world. So, how is it that there are so many naysayers who seem to revile Yuletide celebratons? That's hard to say, but not everything about the way Christmas is celebrated appeals to everybody. Some say that it is overly commercialized. Others believe it should be a purely religious celebration without any traces of Pagan or Celtic traditions and then there are those who look at things the other way around. There are also those who feel that everything about Christmas is Eurocentric and that it marginalizes those with ancestors from other parts of the planet. However, when all is said and all is done, Christmas is a favorite holiday for many people from all parts of the globe and it will mostly likely remain that way for many decades to come.
