Easter Candy Chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, peeps, and creme-filled eggs are just a few examples of the wide assortment of candies which are sold during the weeks leading up to Easter. Although the history of these items is interesting, the consumption of these items satisifies the sweet tooths of millions of people every year. While some merely sample small quantities of these sweet treats, many will overdo it and eat way more of them than they should. The result is likely to be an upset stomach. This abdominal distress can be caused by intestinal gas, inflamatory bowel disease, constipation, food poisoning, irritable bowel syndrome, lactose intelerance, or the simple stress of too much stuff in the stomach! Whatever the exact medical explanation for the pain may be, it's always the case that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So, practice moderation in all things and don't overindulge on the Easter candy! |
